Original wooden grain elevator

A Century of Service in the Heart of the South Plains

Plains Grain stands as one of the most diversified grain elevators on the South Plains, proudly serving farmers, ranchers, and families for more than 100 years. In addition to traditional grain services, we supply quality feed for livestock, show animals, and pets; a variety of hay; pivot and spray parts; plow sweeps; and a full selection of yard and garden supplies. We also lease warehouse space for farm equipment storage or industrial use, provide logistical services for contractors, and operate Windmill RV Park, a convenient 15-site facility offering full hookups.

Abernathy natives Scot and Joan Wesley, along with Patsy Weidner, closed on the purchase of Plains Grain on November 22, 2021. The acquisition fulfilled a longtime goal that began with Patsy and Joan’s father, Jimmie Davis. Though he was unable to join them for the final signing, the family carries his vision forward. Plains Grain celebrated its centennial in 2020 and has remained family-owned throughout its history. Scot, Joan, and Patsy are honored to continue that proud tradition.

One distinctive feature of this classic operation is that its original wooden elevator remains fully functional today.
